After setting sail the night before, we set our alarm to wake up early the next day (Tuesday June 30, 2003) because the ship was scheduled to sail through Prince William Sound into College Fjord between 6:30am and 9:30am. We woke up, put on our Princess terry cloth robes and enjoyed the view of the College Fjord glaciers from the balcony of our stateroom. College Fjord is located in Prince William Sound. Here, a large concentration of glaciers reach the sea, lined up one after the other. The wide Harvard Glacier forms the end of the fjord. The glaciers of College Fjord are named after Eastern schools that helped fund the Harriman Expedition, which discovered this area.
